Welcome Address

Dear colleagues and friends,

As you surely know, the 63rd Congress of the Italian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (SIB) will take place in Palermo from September 10th to 12th, and it is my pleasure to invite you all to participate—our community needs you!

To ensure the best experience for attendees and to promote networking and interaction, we anticipate having all faculty and speakers present onsite in Palermo. Therefore, online presentations are not planned.

The conference will be held in the marvelous city of Palermo, hosted by the local university, and over three days, it will cover key aspects of biochemistry and its connections with physiology, medicine, biotechnology, and more.

Selected topics will include cancer metabolism, chronobiology, moonlighting proteins, redox and mitochondrial biochemistry, and biochemical applications of Artificial Intelligence. As always, we will have an extensive poster session to provide space for the entire SIB community, fostering idea-sharing and new collaborations.

I am confident that the comprehensive program and the opportunity to experience the warm hospitality of the wonderful city of Palermo will encourage broad participation, especially considering the discounted fees for young SIB members.

See you soon in Palermo!

Andrea Bellelli
SIB President
